I have been at Prosperity Mansion for 15+ years. We have this charming veranda with gardens and a fountain in the formal garden where we host cocktails before the reception. There are tow trees that flank the patio area. I am not sure of the name but they have beautiful pink flowers in the Spring and in the Fall there are these cool berries. I adore the trees but have always hates the mess of the berries. When I am hosting a wedding its always a challenge to keep up with the mess. For the first time in 15 years this happened.............

I went down to the veranda to blow it off for a wedding and as I stepped down maybe 40 butterflies rose from the brick patio and flew off. I was in disbelief. I had never seen that here before. I wondered where all of the gorgeous butterflies came from. I finally realized that they were feasting on the berries. I wish I had my cell phone when this all occurred.

I had to blow off the brick for the wedding guests so the berries are gone now. But there are still some on the trees. If this happens again I will get pictures to show you. But I was so happy to see it and inspired by nature.
