How to Tell You're Marrying “THE ONE”

Advice from Prosperity Mansion & Farm an outdoor, Maryland wedding venue located in Frederick County Maryland and near Westminster.

Finding your soulmate is something we all look forward to in life, but it should be something that comes naturally to you. How do you know if you've found them?

Some people feel like they need to get married so they don't have to be alone, but they're so focused on actually getting married that they rush into it and settle for their current partner. When you select your wedding venue to get married, you should feel confident that this is the right person. Does your heart tell you that this is the person that you want to marry and spend the rest of your life with? You shouldn't settle for someone just for the sake of getting married. Prosperity Mansion & Farm is a Maryland wedding venue that not only wants to host you big day but hope that it’s right.

So, what does it feel like to be with your soulmate?

Firstly, everything should feel natural when it comes to the two of you. When you're with the right person, you shouldn't feel like you have to try to make things work. There's no effort in a relationship between soulmates because they work so well together; you're happy and content without trying to be. We aren’t implying that all good relationships are perfect and that couples never fight. But do you fight in a healthy manner?

When you're in a relationship with the right person, you feel different without them there. If you have to be apart for an extended period of time, for work or other reasons, the time apart is noticeable and makes you feel even closer when you're back together again. Remember the old saying “absence makes the heart grow fonder”.

When you're with your soulmate, you'll make a conscious choice to stay with them. At the end of the day, you are each your own person and can make your own choices. You won't feel trapped in a relationship with your soulmate; in fact, you'll want to be with them more than you've ever wanted to be with anybody else.

You'll know you're with The One when the two of you share the same or similar goals for the future. Yes, it's one more thing you have in common, but it also means that you have the same outlook on life and you're working together to accomplish your goals. At least both parties need to respect the others thoughts and opinions.

Along with goals, soulmates also share the same values in life. You can't change who a person is, so what you see is what you get. If you know you both value most things and have similar beliefs, you relate to each other on a deeper level and you know that you can plan your life in a way that compliments both of you.

Couples become “we” when they're right for each other. You start telling your friends things like “we're hoping to get married soon” or “we're looking to buy a house.” As much as you're both independent, you look forward to doing things together and as a couple.

With soulmates, your love and trust with each other is unconditional. No matter what your significant other has to deal with in their lives, you know you will be right by their side and they will do the same thing for you. You are both 100% honest with each other and know that, no matter what, they won’t judge you and will support you in every way.

If you are going through some tough spots in your life, the right person will be there to help you through the good, the bad, and the ugly of it all. Wedding vows include “in sickness and in health” and “through good times and bad” because you’re both there to be supportive and guide each other through the toughest parts of life.

Be on the look out for red flags in your relationship. Red flags are warning signs that will let you know if you should be concerned or worried about where your relationship is going. Things like dishonesty, changing the subject when you’re trying to have important conversations, being overly defensive, controlling, and not supporting your goals and ideas should be things that catch your eye. Listen to your friends and family and trust their opinion. Sometimes its easier for some one that’s not involved to see more clearly.

Above all else, the positives should outweigh the negatives in any relationship, so if you are at all concerned, take the time to sit down and consider every aspect of your lives together. In any good relationship, the high points will stand out over the low points, but with the One, the highest highs will outshine the lowest lows.

At the end of the day, if you follow your heart but also make good judgement calls about who your partner really is. Don’t get married just to be with someone. Prosperity Mansion & Farm will be here to host your wedding when the right person comes along.
