Wedding Time is Almost here.  Let us help you plan NOW!

We have three venue areas.

Smaller weddings and events can be hosted on the Mansion grounds as shown here and in the garden pictures. This will accommodate 50 ish guests.

Mid sized events ( up to 100) can be hosted in the “Meadow” located on the South East side of the Mansion House.

Larger events (100-200) can be held in the sprawling, once farm land that boasts 15 areas.

Regardless of where you hold your event on this property you will be assured that your guests will be enamored with the beauty and elegance of the scenery.  You will have an hour plus to take photos in the Mansion house gardens and on the gracious front porch with its stately columns.  The yellow cottage is for the bride and her party to be able to change before the wedding/reception and enjoy cocktails.

Host your EVENT in Historical Frederick County, listed as one of the top 10 cites in the USA.

Detour is an example of an eighteenth century mill village that evolved into a small town with the coming of the Western Maryland Railroad. Begun in the 1790's it is believed that Abraham Lincoln visited here. He was a close friend of the owners and Lincoln referred to him in his writings. Prosperity Mansion is set in the beautiful countryside, this is an estate of rare and beautiful distinction. Our venue offers a wonderful blend of historic detailing and modern amenities. Enjoy a private setting with a small town feel. Experience the tranquility of acres of open fields and mature trees. Offering gracious gardens, patios and fountains for outdoor entertaining. The picturesque setting is the perfect backdrop for weddings, retreats, family gatherings or retreats.
