We do not mean to imply that there still aren’t segments of our culture that have many issues with most things that are different. My pastor is gay and married to a cop. They hid their sexual orientation for decades. Sadly, when my pastor “came out” to his last church he was fired. Can you imagine what it was like being a cop and hiding your love life from macho fellow cops. But I am happy to say that my pastor found a loving and accepting church and his husband did come out to fellow cops. They now live openly.
