Advice from Prosperity Mansion & Farm an outdoor, Maryland wedding venue located in Frederick County Maryland and bordering Carroll County.

Getting married requires a lot of planning, and one of the first steps is selecting a venue. Wedding venue shopping can be stressful, and Maryland Wedding Venues are particularly popular. With proximity to Baltimore and Washington, D.C., many wedding venues in Maryland are full of history and glamour.

Located on the Chesapeake Bay, Anne Arundel County has many wedding venues, but no venue offers a wedding experience quite like Prosperity Mansion & Farm in Frederick County. While it may seem like a smart decision to get married close to home, there are perks to going a little further from home.

Many of the Anne Arundel County wedding venues offer waterfront experiences. However, most if not all are all-inclusive. So you ability to select your own caterer and bring your on booze are being taken away. Some couples think that an all-inclusive wedding venue is a great deal. But watch out for all of the hidden fees. The fees make a venue like this more expensive in the long run. Waterfront venues are often more expensive to rent than an outdoor garden venue in Maryland, and all-inclusive venues charge upwards of $90+ per guest for the reception dinner. With these hidden charges, a venue in Anne Arundel or other larger towns can truly skyrocket.

While a waterfront venue is ideal for some, not every couple who lives in Anne Arundel County wants to get married on the Bay. Prosperity Mansion is full of history like many other venues, but our venue offers an experience unlike any other. With 19+ acres of beautiful rolling hills and gorgeous landscaping, all weddings at Prosperity Mansion are hidden away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Every aspect of a wedding at Prosperity Mansion is like no other wedding venue in Maryland. The bridal party enters the ceremony space from antique Egyptian doors, creating a picture-perfect moment to announce the bride. Our beautiful cocktail garden has ample space for guests to mingle and includes authentic Jack Daniels whiskey barrels for hors d' oeuvres, a rustic bar, cocktail tables, lighted tress, fire circle, lawn games and our famous, rare “wedding tree”. The reception area hosts a beautiful white tent with skylights, french style doors, chandeliers, Edison lights and breath taking views of the sun setting over the countryside. Did we mention the 20,000 lights in the tree line, fire pit and giant lawn chess? It is a wedding experience like no other.

For some, it might seem like traveling a large distance to get married is not ideal, but the distance is worth every mile for a wedding at Prosperity Mansion. You get the facilities to use for the entire day, including the Bridal Cottage and Man Cave spaces to use to prepare for the big day. We also allow our couples to select their own vendors and BYOB.

A big downside to selecting an all-inclusive venue, like many Anne Arundel County wedding venues are, is that you do not get as much variety as you would when selecting a venue like Prosperity Mansion. Once you sign a contract with an all-inclusive venue, you are locked into their offerings for décor, linens, dinner options and beverages provided to your guests. Being able to select your own caterer, décor and more is another big perk to traveling to Frederick County to get married at Prosperity Mansion.

We are also a pet-friendly venue! Including your furry friend in your ceremony is a growing trend in weddings today, but not all venues are welcoming to pets. Many of the indoor spaces in Anne Arundel County are not going to permit you to include your fur baby in your ceremony, but our beautiful outdoor ceremony space is the perfect place to let your pet shine as a member of your wedding party.

Traveling an hour away for a wedding venue may seem like a lot, but it may actually save money in the long run. The average price for a wedding venue in Anne Arundel County is about $7,500 dollars and up for the wedding venue alone. At Prosperity Mansion & Farm, a Frederick County wedding venue, our packages begin at $3,450. The money you save by selecting our venue makes the additional drive well worth it.

Hotels are located a short drive away that allow you to create a destination weekend for you and your guests. With cities such as Frederick and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania within 15-30 minutes of Prosperity Mansion, you can spend your wedding weekend celebrating history and each other.

In Frederick County and other nearby areas, there are many points of interest for you to visit to get the most out of your trip.
